OSP: Suspected drunk drivers crashed head-on

NEAR MANNING, OR (KPTV) -

Oregon State Police said the drivers involved in an accident on Highway 26 near Manning overnight are facing DUII charges.

The crash happened at about 12:40 a.m. Sunday when a Honda Civic heading eastbound in the westbound lane of the Sunset Highway near milepost 48 collided head-on with a Mazda 3.

Airbags deployed in both vehicles upon impact.

The driver of the Civic, Zacharry Olson, age 18, from Banks, was transported to Legacy Emanuel Hospital. The driver of the Mazda, identified as Jamie France, age 22, from Vernonia, was also taken to Emanuel along with her passenger.

Police said none of the injuries that the parties received appeared to be life-threatening.

Olson was cited for DUII and two counts of assault, while France was cited for DUII.

Police are still trying to determine whether everyone was wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
