PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A man who hit a 9-year-old girl on a bike and then drove away was sentenced to 30 days in jail and had his license revoked for three years.

Jerod Brasky pleaded guilty in December 2013 to felony hit and run involving a serious injury. He was sentenced Friday.

He was driving on the 6900 block of North Kerby Avenue last July when he hit the girl near her home.

The girl was dragged on the pavement and treated at the hospital for injuries described as not life-threatening.

Witnesses said Brasky stopped his truck after the collision, said it wasn't his fault, pulled the girl's bike out from underneath his truck and then drove away saying he had to get to work.

One witness snapped a photo of his license plate.

Brasky also received three years probation as part of his sentencing.
