After warmer weather turned ice and snow-coated streets to slush Sunday afternoon, many people are preparing for a messy commute Monday morning.
Oregon Department of Transportation crews will continue sanding and plowing highways overnight to prepare for the morning commute.
Portland Bureau of Transportation crews will continue using the city's 55 plows to clear roads throughout the city.
Clark County roads crews will begin working at 1:30 a.m. Monday to get the streets ready for commuters.
After shutting down MAX trains Saturday night due to ice, TriMet gradually restored train service on Sunday.
"We plan to run regular weekday service tomorrow, but buses will be chained in the morning due to forecasted freezing temps tonight," read a tweet from the agency.
