A former Sherwood High School teacher now admits she had sex with one of her underage students.
On Monday in a Washington County court, Denise Keesee changed her plea to guilty. Keesee avoided a trial that was supposed to start in just a couple of weeks. She'll be free on bail until her sentencing in April.
Last fall, deputies arrested Keesee and accused her of having sex with two underage boys. Investigators say the victims were Keesee's former students at Sherwood High School and at-risk teens she had contact with through a mentoring program.
After a lengthy investigation, a grand jury indicted Keesee last spring on allegations she abused the students, who were between 14 and 17 years old. The relationships occurred at separate times between 2006 and 2012, authorities said.
Court documents said the crimes happened at her Sherwood home, in Tualatin's Ibach Park and at a Tualatin apartment complex.
At that time, Keesee's husband was the school resource officer at Sherwood High School.
