Driver crashes into pole, knocks out power in NE Portland

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A suspected drunken driver knocked out power to hundreds of people in northeast Portland on Wednesday.

The crash happened at Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Dekum Street.

Portland police said the driver may have been under the influence of intoxicants while heading west on Dekum. The driver struck a pole, knocking out power to more than 1,100 Pacific Power customers.

The power is expected to be restored by 8:30 a.m.

No one was injured in the crash.
