STEVENSON, WA (KPTV) -

A Stevenson High School student was arrested Monday after deputies said he sent a tweet that said "gunmen at school!!!"

The tweet was sent shortly after classes started at the school in the Columbia River Gorge on Monday morning.

School staff immediately started lockdown procedures while Skamania County sheriff's deputies rushed to the school.

Meanwhile, the student, whom deputies identified as 18-year-old Austin Raphael, continued tweeting.

"A legit lock down at school and I'm just over here takin a [profane remark]," he wrote.

Deputies arrested Raphael in North Bonneville and booked him into the Skamania County Jail on a charge of felony harassment.

Chief Criminal Deputy Pat Bond said the school district and sheriff's office made a "swift and timely response, resulting in a very quick resolution to the situation."

A Twitter account that appears to belong to Raphael still had the tweets published as of Monday afternoon.
