After a year and a half of investigating, a former bookkeeper at a West Springfield business has been indicted, accused of stealing more than $1 million from the company.
According to the state Attorney General's Office, Jeffrey Cinelli, of Montgomery, had been working as a bookkeeper for West Springfield-based Massachusetts Fire Technologies.
Authorities allege he had been funneling money from the company's accounts to pay his own credit card bills and would then fix the books to hide the theft.
State investigators say the theft happened between January 2006 and May 2009.
Cinelli faces multiple charges and will be arraigned March 14.
