ASTORIA, OR (KPTV) -

Police are trying to track down a driver who ran away from the scene of a crash that critically injured a man near the Oregon coast.

It happened on Highway 30 about eight miles east of Astoria at 9:20 p.m. Feb. 28.

Police said a 2002 Dodge Neon with three people inside was traveling near Milepost 88 when a gray 1996 Honda Passport crossed the centerline and collided head-on with the Dodge.

The driver of the Honda ran away from the scene. Troopers don't know if the driver was a man or a woman. Based upon the damage from the crash, it's believed the driver may have been injured.

The driver of the Dodge, Abraham Korpoh, 22, of Portland, was taken on Life Flight to a Portland hospital with critical injuries. His two passengers suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police said traffic was heavy at the time of the crash. They are asking any witnesses to come forward. Troopers also said it's possible someone picked up the driver and wasn't aware of the person's direct involvement in the crash.

The Honda Passport had Oregon plates and a "Fox" decal in the rear window.

If you know anything about this case, you're asked to call Oregon State Police at 800-452-7888.
