WOODBURN, OR (KPTV) -

A robbery at a Woodburn credit union caused lockdowns at four nearby schools Tuesday afternoon.

Woodburn police responded to the armed robbery at MAPS Credit Union on Newberg Highway at 12:23 p.m.

As a precaution, four schools - including Woodburn High School and Woodburn Middle School - went into lockdown mode while police searched for the suspect.

Witnesses said the bank robber armed himself with a gun. He wore dark clothing and was white, police said, and managed to escape with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He was last seen heading on foot toward The Estates on Broughton Way.

Police said there were no injuries during the robbery, and anyone with information is asked to call 503-982-2345.

The school lockdowns were lifted at about 1:35 p.m.
