KEIZER, OR (KPTV) -

A Keizer teen is accused of murder for the shooting death of his mother.

Keizer police rushed to a home at 4826 Ventura Loop North at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

They located the body of a woman, who has been identified as Michelle Pearson, 44. It appears she died as a result of being shot, according to police, but the exact cause of death is pending an autopsy.

Her husband, Bill Pearson, 57, was also found suffering from serious gunshot injuries in the home. He is being treated at Salem Hospital and is expected to survive.

Police said the couple lives in the home with their 17-year-old son Brett Pearson.

Brett Pearson was identified as a suspect in the shooting, along with his friend Robert Miller II, 17.

Both suspects had left the home prior to officers arriving.

A suspect vehicle was spotted at 1 a.m. on River Road North. Police and deputies initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Brett Pearson. He was the only one in the car and was taken into custody.

Investigators learned Miller had checked into a Salem hotel. He was taken into custody without further incident.

A chilling Facebook post from Brett Pearson alludes to the gruesome attack on his own parents.

At 5:12 p.m. Wednesday, Brett Pearson wrote, "Life's about to change in a number of ways!" The post was reportedly liked by alleged co-conspirator Robert Miller, just hours before the murder.

"It is inconceivable that this happened," said Fr. Gary Zerr, the family's pastor. "It's like having a death in the family.

Zerr tells FOX 12 he's known the couple for years. He said Michelle Pearson was their parish counselor at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Keizer and taught Sunday school every week.

"This is something we'll all process together, because we all experience it in same way, someone was ripped out of our lives in a permanent way, and with so much to give," said Zerr.

The State Department of Human Services confirms Michelle Pearson also worked as an accountant in the office of financial services for the last seven months.

Both suspects are facing charges of murder, attempt to commit murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Because they are Measure 11 charges, the teens will be charged as adults in circuit court and were booked in the Marion County Jail.

They were held without bail Thursday night and set to appear in court Friday.

Friends of Brett Pearson who asked FOX 12 to remain anonymous claim he was a great guy, but recently got involved with the wrong crowd. They allege that he began using meth, and believe he was likely under the influence of drugs at the time of the attack.

Anyone with information about this incident or the suspects are asked to contact Keizer Police Detective Ben Howden at 503-390-3713, Ext. 3525 or by email at howdenb@keizer.org.
