BATTLE GROUND, WA (KPTV) -

Four people were arrested at a home littered with syringes in a heroin trafficking investigation in Battle Ground.

The Clark-Vancouver Regional Drug Task Force and the Southwest Washington Regional SWAT team executed a search warrant at 6 a.m. Thursday at 21615 NE 259th St.

The drug task force started an investigation after it received complaints of heroin being sold out of the house. Task force detectives, over the course of several weeks, arranged to purchase heroin from the house.

During the search, detectives said they located small amounts of heroin and methamphetamine, drug scales, drug paraphernalia, a handgun, and approximately $8,700 in cash.

A stolen car that had already been stripped for parts was also recovered.

Investigators said "customers" would park down the street, walk several hundred feet to the house and go up to a window where a hand-to-hand drug transaction would take place.

"That business model works for fast food but not necessarily for heroin in a rural residential area," said task force commander Mike Cooke.

Detectives said they had to be extremely careful during the search as numerous discarded syringes were found in the house.

Michael Thompson, 23, was arrested on charges of possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a dangerous weapon. Leonard Langdon II, 24, and Jeremy Howem, 24, are both charged with possession of heroin. Sheila Langdon, 51, was arrested on the charge of maintaining a drug dwelling.
