KEIZER, OR (KPTV) -

An Oregon mother who police said was shot by her teenage son and his friend died of a single gunshot wound to the neck, the state medical examiner confirmed Friday.

Michelle Pearson, 44, was an accountant for the office of financial services at the State Department of Human Services.

Police found her body at her home on Ventura Loop in Keizer at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. They also found her husband, 57-year-old Bill Pearson, suffering from serious gunshot injuries. He remains hospitalized and is expected to survive.

The couple lived at the home with their 17-year-old son Brett Pearson, who police identified as a suspect in the shooting along with his friend Robert Miller II, who is also 17 years old.

Police said the bullet that killed Michelle Pearson struck her neck and traveled down to her chest.

A chilling Facebook post from Brett Pearson alluded to the gruesome attack on his own parents at 5:12 p.m. Wednesday.

"Life's about to change in a number of ways!" wrote Brett Pearson on Facebook.

The post was reportedly liked by alleged co-conspirator Miller just hours before the murder.

"It is inconceivable that this happened," said Fr. Gary Zerr, the family's pastor. "It's like having a death in the family."

Zerr tells FOX 12 he's known the couple for years. He said Michelle Pearson was their parish counselor at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Keizer and taught Sunday school every week.

Miller and Brett Pearson will both be tried as adults. They made their first appearance in court Friday.

The judge did not allow cameras in the courtroom, but dozens of friends and family members were there Friday.

The suspects are being held without bail.

In an exclusive jailhouse interview with Fox 12 on Friday, Pearson said he was on meth during the planning of the shooting and on the night it was carried out.
