PETTIS COUNTY, MO (KCTV) -

A fiery single-car crash claimed the lives of four people from Sedalia.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said the wreck happened about 6:30 a.m. Sunday on Route B south of Sacajawea Road.

Troopers said a 2007 Audi driven by Dmitriy S. Banakh, 25, drove off the road and smashed into a tree, catching fire.

Banakh and his three passengers, Angelika A. Franchuk, 19, Anna Morgunenko, 16, and Daniel Morgunenko, 20, were pronounced dead at the scene. Banakh and the Morgunenkos were cousins while Franchuk was their friend.

Troopers are still working to determine what caused Banakh to lose control but believe excessive speed could be to blame.

Crosses now mark the crash site.

Family members are devastated by their losses.

Franchuk's parents said she was an amazing daughter who was sweet, happy and enjoyed life.

Lilianna Franchuk is devastated by the loss of her twin.

"I wouldn't have the words to describe how amazing she was," she said. "No one will ever be able to replace my other half."

Banakh's brother, Arthur Tsdona, is also grief stricken.

"Everybody's in shock. You wake up in the morning and you look in his room and you don't see him anymore, that's when it hits you," he said. "You know he's not going to come back."

Anna Morgunenko previously attended Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia, and counselors were made available.
