Life Flight called out to Estacada crash involving school bus

ESTACADA, OR (AP) -

Emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash involving a school bus in Estacada on Friday morning.

It happened a little before 8 a.m. at Highway 224 and Highway 211.

No children were on the bus, according to first responders.

Firefighters said a 16-year-old driver pulled out in front of the bus, causing the crash. Three people in the car were injured. Two were taken by Life Flight to Oregon Health & Science University.

The mother of the driver, Celia Cauich is reported in fair condition at OHSU. Her son, whose name hasn't been released, is also reported in fair condition.

Sandy Police have not yet been able to interview the driver. However, according to witness statements the driver rolled through a stop sign and turned in front of the bus.

All westbound lanes of Highway 224 were closed, along with one eastbound lane, after the crash.
