Now that most of the snow is finally gone, you may see circles or patches of dead looking grass on your lawn. And in some cases, that grass is actually pink.

Experts say this is grey and pink snow mold, a lawn disease directly related to winter.

"It stayed under snow longer and there's less air getting to it," says Paul Mendezoff of Petitti Garden Center.

Luckily, this ugly problem is pretty easy to fix.

"You can see new grass is trying to come up, but if we can rake this up a bit, that's going to get that root exposed and let that new grass get started a lot faster," says Mendezoff.

Raking along with some seed and fertilizer and your lawn should pop right back.

How do you keep this from happening again?

"As close to when the snow comes down as we can, put a protective layer of disease control on your lawn. That will stop it from getting started," adds Mendezoff.
