Posted: Updated:

A missing woman who suffers from Alzheimer's was found safe in her old neighborhood.

Marilyn Clark, 74, dropped her mother off at St. Vincent Hospital at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

She accidentally took her mother's purse and identification when she left the hospital. It's believed she got on a bus and headed toward southeast Portland.

Clark was reported missing to the sheriff's office around 11:45 p.m. and was entered in a law enforcement database as an endangered missing person.

At some point that same night, a neighbor found Clark in her old neighborhood. The neighbor took her in and then realized she had been reported missing Thursday morning.

Deputies have now returned Clark safely to her home.
