An elderly man was found dead inside a burning home in southwest Portland Thursday.
Firefighters were called to the scene on the 10900 block of Southwest 61st Avenue at 12:48 p.m.
Crews arrived to find heavy fire and smoke coming from a single-family home. Firefighters reported extreme clutter and hoarding conditions inside, making it difficult for them to make their way through the home.
Firefighters said they discovered one victim who had died inside during their search and rescue efforts.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
