Deported felon arrested for shooting at woman's car with BB gun

Oregon State Police arrested a deported felon Wednesday night after he allegedly shot at moving car with a BB gun in Oregon City.

Troopers say when they found Daniel Jimenez- Barragan, 28, he had five grams of heroin on him along with more than $6,600 in cash.

Troopers say the driver of the car Jimenez- Barragan shot at called 911 to report what happened.

The 21-year-old says she was exiting I-205 southbound onto Highway 213 just after 10 p.m. Wednesday when the suspect flashed his lights at her and almost rear-ended her car as she exited the freeway.

After that, the woman says he pulled up next to her and fired the BB gun at her car, hitting the passenger door. At the time, the woman says she thought it was a real gun.

"I was really really scared," said the 21-year-old, who asked FOX 12 to remain anonymous. "I knew he wasn't going to get away with this, I was not going to let him get away with hitting my car and almost rear-ending me."

The woman memorized his license plate, which is reportedly how troopers were able to track Jimenez-Barragan down just down the highway near Molalla.

"I am so thankful it was not a real gun," said the 21-year-old driver. "With the kind of guy this person is, it was only a matter of time before he had a real one."

Troopers say Jimenez-Barragan was deported over two years ago and had illegally returned to Oregon about a month ago.

Prior to learning Jimenez-Barragan was back in Oregon, the Multnomah County Department of Community Justice had him listed on "inactive" status because he was known to have been deported and wasn't actively being supervised, but was being monitored in case he returned, according to OSP.

In addition to an ICE hold, the suspect was lodged into the Clackamas County Jail for unlawful possession of heroin, menacing and criminal mischief in the second degree.
