CRESWELL, OR (KPTV) -

A cinder block that was dropped off an Interstate 5 overpass smashed through a car windshield and struck a woman in her face early Sunday morning.

Oregon State Police are hoping a tip from the public can help track down the person responsible.

It happened at 4:28 a.m. at the I-5 overpass on East Oregon Avenue in Creswell.

Michael Becker, 28, of Roy, WA, had been driving north on I-5 in the right lane when the cinder block came crashing through his front windshield. It hit 30-year-old Tiffany Becker, who was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center to be treated.

Tiffany Becker survived, and has since been treated and released from a hospital. Michael Becker wasn't hurt.

State police said four unidentified people - two of whom were on bicycles and two of whom were on skateboards - were in the area around the time the cinder block was dropped from the overpass. It's not known if they were connected to the incident, but anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area is asked to call 541-726-2536 or email gellis@osp.state.or.us.
