PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Emergency crews were tasked with recovering two bodies from Portland-area rivers on Monday afternoon.

After getting word of a body found in the Columbia River near Reeder Beach at 1:15 p.m., the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office River Patrol Unit headed toward Sauvie Island.

However, they then found another body in the Willamette River near the Swan Island Railroad Bridge.

That body was recovered while a U.S. Coast Guard team responded to Reeder Beach. The other body was located and recovered by Clark County Fire & Rescue.

Both bodies were transported to the Willamette River Patrol Office in downtown Portland.

Detectives and the medical examiner responded to begin death investigations. The bodies have only been identified as adult men at this point.

No other details were released.
