ADRIAN, MI (Toledo News Now) -

An Adrian resident says a woman came up to her front door and asked to use the restroom. Now fears that woman was actually planning to rob her.

"She comes in and she immediately started looking around my house. I immediately got a check in my spirit that said she's casing my house," said the homeowner, who did not want to be identified.

The homeowner say she let the woman inside because she claimed she'd been walking for two hours and she needed to use the bathroom.

"She left. I closed the door locked it really quick. [I] Ran back to the bathroom to check to see if she'd gotten any of my jewelry. Well none of that was touched," said the homeowner.

The homeowner says she contacted friends and family on Merrick and Allis Streets, who told her the same woman came knocking at their door. That's when she called police.

At this time, they say they don't have any reports filed about these encounters, but want to remind residents to always trust their gut.

"She says she felt uncomfortable but didn't want to be mean. You know, close the door. You don't have to let those people into your house. If you think something is funny sometimes it is," said Adrian Police Chief Vincent Emrick.

According to the homeowner, the suspect identified herself as "Marney."

If you see anything suspicious, call police.
