PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland police shut down parts of OHSU while they investigated a report of a person armed with a pipe bomb Sunday morning.

Officers and OHSU security made contact with the person, and a bomb squad determined the device was not an explosive and posed no risk to the public.

Central precinct officers first received the report of the possible pipe bomb at 10:45 a.m., and they cleared the scene by 12:15 p.m. U.S. Veteran's Highway was blocked at Sam Jackson Parkway during the investigation, but has since reopened.

While OHSU's security staff detained the person, there's no word yet on whether he or she will face charges.
