A family of five people, including three young children, were injured in a collision at a southeast Portland intersection Saturday night.
Portland police arrested 46-year-old Alfred Randall in connection with the crash.
Randall started to turn left from Stark Street onto 139th Avenue in his Ford F250 pickup and collided with a van carrying the family, police said. The van, driven by 31-year-old Eusiquio Colores-Galindo, had a green light.
Officers said they determined Randall had been driving under the influence at the time. He was arrested and now faces charges of DUII, reckless driving, reckless endangering and assault.
Colores-Galindo, his wife and his three children (ages 1, 3 and 5) were all taken to Portland hospitals to be treated from injuries suffered in the wreck. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
The van and the pickup were towed from the scene.
Randall appeared in court Monday for his arraignment, but he told the judge he was in the process of hiring an attorney, so it was postponed until May 5.
Randall posted bail, which was set at $40,000, and was released from jail.
