Drugs, grinder, scale and cash found during checkpoint

Johnson City police say Shea Sanabria, 19, was not wearing his seat belt during a seat belt safety checkpoint Saturday.

Police told News Channel 11, when they made contact with him about his seat belt they noticed a strong odor of marijuana.

During an investigation, officers say they found 62 grams of marijuana, four Oxycodone pills, a metal grinder, digital scale and $618 in cash.

Sanabria was arrested and now faces charges of Seat Belt Violation, Simple Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Schedule VI Controlled Substance, For Resale.

He was taken to the Washington County Detention Center and is being held on a $22,000 bond. He will be in court Monday afternoon.
