An escaped central Oregon prison inmate who has been on the run all week may have been spotted driving a small red truck in the Mill City area.

Several witnesses reported possible sightings of Clinton Swearingen II over the last 24 hours, including him driving a red truck at 4 a.m. Friday.

Law enforcement has scoured the area and is asking people to be on the lookout for any suspicious activity. However, police said to be extremely cautious if you do see Swearingen.

He is considered armed and dangerous to himself and others.

Swearingen was discovered missing from the Deer Ridge Correctional Institute near Madras at 10:15 p.m. Sunday during an inmate count.

Surveillance video showed him climbing a razor-wire fence at the prison at 9:20 p.m. Sunday.

In the days that followed, detectives recovered blood from a stolen vehicle abandoned in a Madras neighborhood, and they also found bloody clothes that were sent to a crime lab to determine if they belonged to Swearingen.

Swearingen was serving time in prison for Linn County convictions of theft, burglary and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. His earliest release date would have been December 2017.

The prison from which he escaped is a minimum security facility located four miles east of Madras.

He is described as white, 31 years old, 5'6" and 140 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information on Swearingen's whereabouts is asked to call Oregon State Police 1-800-452-7888.
