POLK COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

A Polk County deputy accused of theft has been placed on paid administrative leave.

Deputy Josh Williams was cited to appear in Polk County Circuit Court on May 22 for the charges of third-degree theft and first-degree official misconduct.

Williams has been with the Polk County Sheriff's Office since 2004 and is assigned to the corrections division.

The sheriff's office did not release specific details about the allegations against Williams.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office and the Marion County District Attorney's Office are handling the case.
