PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Two men are accused of attempting to meet underage girls on Craigslist, not realizing they were communicating with undercover officers.

On Tuesday, police posted an ad in the "casual encounters" section of Craigslist titled: "Sweet & Shy – w4m – 18 (portland)." The post claimed to be from a teen looking for someone to "help me come out of my shell."

The initial response was allegedly from 26-year-old Edgar Martinez-Alcauter. According to court documents, his reply included extremely explicit sexual language.

The officer then replied that she was only 16 years old and said, "Hopefully, that's OK."

"It's alright with me and it will be fun," Martinez-Alcauter replied, according to court documents.

After exchanging text messages, a probable cause affidavit states the two agreed to meet. Upon arriving at the undisclosed location, Martinez-Alcauter was placed under arrest.

That same day, an undercover officer responded to a different sexually explicit post in the same section on Craigslist.

The post described the sex acts the man was soliciting and said, "I don't care about your age, although it would be fun to teach a young girl," according to court documents.

The officer sent a message stating she was 16 years old, but had her 19-year-old sister's ID.

The officer stated her parents would be out of town and they could meet after school. A probable cause affidavit states the suspect, identified as Jeffrey Hicks, 38, responded with another sexually explicit and graphic message.

After agreeing to meet on Thursday, Hicks was arrested. Court documents state he was carrying a condom and "male enhancing lubricant." The probable cause affidavit also states he apparently took a capsule that alleged to provide, "72 hours of power and confidence."

Martinez-Alcauter and Hicks were both booked in the Multnomah County Jail on the charge of luring a minor.

They were both arraigned on Thursday and are due back in court on May 30.
