DES PLAINES, Ill., May 19, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Society of Safety Engineers Foundation is proud to announce that the Walt Disney Co. will be the sole major underwriter of the 20th annual Safety Matters Silent Auction June 8-11, 2014 in Orlando.

The ASSE Foundation provides educational advancement, leadership development, and research opportunities for individuals within the field of workplace safety. Its scholarship and grant program annually awards roughly $200,000 to more than 100 safety students and professionals. Its Family Scholarship Fund assists families who have lost a loved one in a workplace incident.  

The Safety Matters Silent Auction is held in conjunction with the American Society of Safety Engineers' (ASSE) annual Professional Development Conference (PDC), this year titled Safety 2014, which attracts more than 4,500 safety professionals and 500 exhibitors over the three-day event. As the premier underwriter of the silent auction, Disney will provide a generous contribution to the Safety Matters fund and several Disney-themed gift baskets and packages, sure to be an auction highlight.
