Search for Kyron continues on National Missing Children's Day

Posted: Updated:

It's been nearly four years since 7-year-old Kyron Horman went missing. His father holds out hope that Kyron will be found. On Sunday, National Missing Children's Day, he raised money to continue the search.

"We're doing everything we can to keep that hope alive and the momentum going, so that's what today's about for us," Kaine Horman said.

On a day dedicated to all missing children, Horman said hope is what keeps him going.

"The pursuit of these children who have been gone for a really long time but eventually make their way back, and we have that same hope for Kyron," he said.

On June 4, 2010, Horman kissed his son goodbye and hasn't seen him since. Kyron never made it home from school.

Horman has maintained his ex-wife was involved in his son's disappearance, but she was never named a suspect in the case.

His search has never stopped.

"That's our job. That's our job as parents to do, to put everything aside that's going on with us and focus on them and bring them home," he told Fox 12 back in 2011. "That's it."

That continues now with family and friends gathered at a Beaverton bowling alley to show their support.

"Everybody behind the family is going to always believe he's going to be coming home," friend Kelly Edmunson said. "We'll do whatever we can to keep the money coming in so they can keep searching."

Last year alone, about 15,000 kids, like Kyron, went missing.

"I just saw a story maybe a week or two ago of a young lady returned home after being gone for several years," Horman said. "It's a constant reminder to have hope."
