OREGON CITY, OR (KPTV) -

A head-on crash on Highway 213 south of Oregon City sent two women to the hospital on Tuesday.

It happened at 11:30 a.m. near South Greentree Drive. Investigators said a Cadillac SUV towing a trailer driven by a 73-year-old woman was northbound when it crossed the center line and slammed into a southbound Chevrolet pickup.

The trailer detached from the SUV and came to rest on the side of the highway.

The driver was identified Wednesday as Sharon Zimmerman of Woodburn. She was taken to the hospital on Life Flight with serious injuries.

The driver of the pickup, Briana Lee, 19, of Oregon City, was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. Her injuries are described as non-life threatening.

Oregon State Police troopers are continuing to investigate what led to the crash.

The road was closed for three hours during the initial investigation.
