Teen suspect arrested after man shot in neck at Tigard apartment

TIGARD, OR (KPTV) -

A 19-year-old from Portland is accused of shooting a man in the neck at a Tigard apartment complex.

Police were called to The Birches Apartments, 11485 S.W. Greenburg Road, at 1:10 a.m. May 13.

The 27-year-old shooting victim was located and taken to the hospital. His injuries were described as serious, but not life-threatening. He continues to recover, according to Tigard police.

On May 23, the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Dwayne Driver, was taken into custody at his workplace in southeast Portland.

Police said they were led to Driver based on evidence inside the apartment at the scene of the shooting. However, a motive remains unclear.

Driver was booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of attempted murder, assault, burglary, robbery, unlawful use of a weapon and being a felon in possession of a weapon.
