No OVI arrests in Northwood checkpoint

Several law enforcement agencies worked together Friday night to keep the roads safe. The Lucas County DUI Task Force conducted a sobriety checkpoint in the 2500 block of Woodville Road.

Throughout the night, 623 vehicles went through the checkpoint. Of the vehicles, 36 were diverted for further investigation.

No one was arrested for driving drunk. However, the following citations were issued:

Expired plates: 2

Illegal plates: 1

No operator's license: 6

Child safety seat: 1

Drug arrest: 1

In addition, two people were turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol for possibly being in the United States illegally.

The checkpoint was conducted through the Northwood Police Department, Oregon Police Department, Waldbridge Police Department, Lucas County Sheriff's Office and Ohio State Highway Patrol.
