PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Police say a 15-year-old boy was stabbed at about 1:15 a.m. Sunday near Southeast 146th and Burnside.

Officers found the teen with a non-life-threatening stab wound. Paramedics took him to the hospital.

The boy's family says he and friends were walking near his home when a man yelled a racial slur and stabbed the teen.

They said he is in the ICU on Sunday night with injuries from the stabbing, including punctured lungs. Family members say he's already had one surgery and will have another on Monday.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s, about 6'3" tall and weighing about 185 pounds.

Anyone with information should call Portland police.
