SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -
Police arrested two alleged burglars after an alert neighbor noticed flashlights shining from inside a home that was supposed to be vacant.
Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told CBS 3 that officers responded to 26 Kimberly Ave. about 10:15 p.m. Saturday after receiving a 911 call from the neighbor.
Responding officers also saw the flashlights illuminating the interior of the home. They found that a back door had been forced open and they entered the home, Delaney said.
Police found a woman in a second floor hallway, and later located a man hiding in a room on the third floor, Delaney said.
Police charged Victor Ramos, 27, of 155 Quaker Rd., Springfield, and Shanike Roldon, 28, of 16 Rutledge Ave., Springfield, with breaking and entering at night for a felony, and possession of burglary tools, according to an arrest report.
"This arrest was possible because a very good neighbor looked out his window and spotted something that looked suspicious," Delaney said.
