Woman bursts into blind man's home, allegedly attacks caregiver

In a bizarre attack, police say a Tigard woman broke into her neighbor's home and allegedly beat a blind man's caregiver.

Lisa Tam remains behind bars Monday, facing burglary and assault charges. Police say at this point they still can't find a motive for this violent attack.

It all happened at an apartment complex on Commercial Street in Tigard last week.

Daniel Carson tells FOX 12 his caregiver was doing what she always does on Fridays, which is helping him with things around the house. Carson himself is blind.

"I need her help. She's really important in my life, and she's the only person around during the week," said Carson.

Carson says his caregiver was just about done cleaning and getting ready to go to her kid's dance recital when Tam came barging furiously through his front door.

"She just walked in and planted herself in my rocking chair, and went off on me, and then went after the caregiver," said Carson.

Police say Tam was ranting uncontrollably for no apparent reason. Court documents reveal that when Carson asked Tam to leave, she pushed and then punched his caregiver with a closed fist.

"I know she got hit in face, and the mouth, one of her teeth was knocked almost completely out," said Carson.

Carson called 911, and Tam ran home to her neighboring apartment, according to police. When police tried to talk to her, she refused to open her door. Police say once they got inside, they found her hiding in the shower.

Tam was arrested and hauled off to the Washington County Jail.

"I just hope that whatever that little lady's problem is, that someone can help her," said Carson.
