COQUILLE, OR (KPTV) -

Two children were killed in a fire while staying the night inside their grandmother's trailer.

Emergency crews were called to the Riversedge RV Park in Coquille at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday.

The owner of the RV, identified as 59-year-old Virginia Jennings, was able to escape. Neighbors also rescued a child before the fire became too intense for anyone else to go inside.

That child was identified Wednesday as Caden Teddleton, a 7-year-old grandson of Jennings. He was in critical condition with burns and smoke inhalation issues Wednesday.

Investigators said two of Jennings' other grandchildren were killed in the fire.

Preliminary testing indicates Christopher Thorp, 13, and his 8-year-old brother Grayson Thorp, both of Roseburg, died of smoke inhalation, according to a report from Coos County District Attorney R. Paul Frasier.

Investigators said all three children were staying the night with their grandmother in her trailer. Jennings was treated and released from the hospital.

Arson investigators from Oregon State Police and the Oregon State Fire Marshal's office responded to the scene. The cause of the fire remained under investigation Wednesday evening.

Police and firefighters from various agencies assisted at the scene.

Anyone with information about this investigation is encouraged to contact the Coquille Police Department.
