MARION COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

A Woodburn man is accused of stealing flower pots and fencing from a cemetery to sell it as scrap.

The caretaker of the Belle Passi Cemetery in rural northern Marion County discovered the items missing between June 13 and June 20.

Deputies said the caretaker did a little investigating of his own and found the missing flower pots at local scrap yards.

The caretaker then alerted authorities.

Investigators used recycling records to locate and arrest a suspect, identified as Randall Kuschnick, 42, of Woodburn.

Deputies believe he stole metal flower pots and around 300 feet of fencing wire from the cemetery.

Kuschnick was cited and released on the charge of first-degree theft. He is now scheduled to appear in court on July 25.
