SHERWOOD, OR (KPTV) -

A graduation gift ended up on the back of a tow truck after a crash into a creek.

Emergency crews responded to the area of Southwest Tonquin Road and Morgan Road near Sherwood at around 6:45 a.m. Thursday.

A Corvette had gone through an area marked with 25 mph caution turn signs and through heavy brush before coming to a stop in a small creek.

The driver was not identified, but deputies said it is not believed drugs, alcohol or excessive speed were factors in the crash. They consider it more a matter of "human error," combined with slick road conditions.

The driver suffered minor injuries. The car was totaled.

Deputies said the driver, now a Portland Community College student, was given the car as a graduation gift from his grandfather.
