MINNEAPOLIS, June 30, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- ACA International Education Foundation today proudly announces the 2014 recipients of Loomer-Mortenson Scholarships, which awards a total of $10,000 split among four post-secondary bound students.

ACA INTERNATIONAL

First place winner Michael Davis of Bessemer, Ala. will receive a $5,000 scholarship. Davis, a graduate of Hoover High School, will attend Samford University in Birmingham, Ala.

Second place winner Emily Schabel of Westport, Ind. will receive a $3,000 scholarship.  Schabel, a graduate of Columbus North High School, will attend Butler University in Indianapolis, Ind.

The other two recipients, Wynter Novak of Omaha, Neb. and Pedro Olinger of Nashua, N.H. will each receive $1,000. Novak is a graduate of Millard North High School and will attend the University of Wisconsin, Milwaulkee.  Olinger is a graduate of Wilton Lyndeborough Co-op and will attend the University of New Hampshire.

Honoring the memories of Robert E. Loomer and Irvin "Dempsey" Mortenson, the Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship is available annually to employees of the credit and collections industry and members of their family.  This year's winners were selected from a pool of more than 70 applicants based on several criteria, including an essay outlining the value of consumer credit.     

Founded in 1995, ACA International Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization focused on promoting consumer financial literacy.  It is the philanthropic arm of ACA International, the association of credit and collection professionals.
