Introducing SCU's Bachelor's Completion Program Tailored For Working Professionals And Launching This Fall!
WHITTIER, Calif., June 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU) is proud to announce the launch of its very first undergraduate degree program. Starting this Fall, SCU will offer a Bachelor's Completion Program in Biological Sciences as part of its curriculum. The program, which has been certified and approved by WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges), SCU's regional accrediting agency, allows individuals to return to school and secure a Bachelor's of Science Degree.
SCU believes it is never too late to complete a degree and developed this innovative degree program that is customized for working adults that are looking to complete required coursework. With its concentration in Integrative Healthcare, SCU's Bachelor's of Science Degree is designed to give graduates an important competitive edge within the burgeoning health sciences fields. As this is a degree completion program, it requires 56 regionally accredited semester credits (or equivalent) to transfer into the program, but the University will also accept an accredited A.A. Degree. With classes scheduled for Friday evenings and all-day on Saturdays, it becomes a convenient method to complete a Bachelor's Degree while still working full-time.
This is an incredible accomplishment for SCU and the Bachelor's Completion Program will play a pivotal role in expanding the academic portfolio of the university. Dr. Marty Harris, SCU Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs and a key champion of the new program, states, "This innovative program adds to the comprehensive nature of our offerings and will help advance us towards our strategic goals an offer even more options to students. As a truly pioneering effort, the development of SCU's first undergraduate degree program attests to the institution's demonstrated leadership within the integrative healthcare field. As we look to develop additional Bachelor Completion Programs in the future, this new curriculum represents a extremely positive move for the university and will allow us to better serve students."
SCU's first Bachelor's Completion Program in Biological Sciences is set to launch in September of 2014 and has already generated a great deal of interest from individuals in the healthcare industry as well as prospective students. SCU has begun accepting applications for its Fall 2014 term and federal financial aid is available to those who qualify.
