Fort Huachuca implements its own fire restrictions

Posted: Updated:
TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Fort Huachuca is implementing its own fire restrictions, according to a release from the Public Affairs.  These new restrictions, effective July 1, are the same as those posted for the Coronado National Forest Service.  This means no open fires or barbecues of any type will be allowed in the canyons, mountains or training areas on the fort.

Smoking in those same areas will only be allowed inside of a vehicle, there will be no cigarette butts thrown on the ground.  Fireworks are also prohibited on the base.

According to the recent release all canyon and mountain areas will be patrolled by Ft. Huachuca fire and police crews to enforce these restrictions.
