More car recalls—this time, from Ford. The company announced it's recalling 92,000 sedans and crossovers for a problem with the right-hand half shaft, which is part of the axle.
Most of the affected vehicles are in the United States. If you have one of the following vehicles, the problem could cause your axle to move outward or disengage over time:
2013-2014 Ford Taurus
2013-2014 police Interceptor
2013-2014 Lincoln MKT and Lincoln MTS
2012-2014 Lincoln MKX
Ford spokeswoman Kelli Felker said the company detected the problem through warranty claims.
Ford also announced four other recalls. The first is for 200 model year 2014 Fiesta sedans because of a possible gas tank leak. In addition, Ford recalled 5,264 model years 2011-2014 F59 Stripped Chassis commercial vehicles for an electrical system that may short-circuit and create a fire risk.
About 600 F52 Stripped Chassis motor homes and F59 Stripped Chassis commercial trucks are recalled for a potential brake issue. Another is for 2,100 Ford Escape crossovers from 2014 for a weakness in the glass sunroof that could cause it to leak or break.
