A man wanted for approaching women in southeast Portland has been arrested by police.

Portland police say they arrested Jerry Johnson, 44, of Portland on the charge of sex abuse in the third degree.

Police say Johnson is believed to be the man who kissed a woman at OMSI and approached other women in lower Southeast Portland.

Johnson was working as a security guard, but according to detectives, quit on July 17, due to the intense public scrutiny on the case.

Johnson was arrested at his home on NW Upshur Street on Friday night.

He's expected to be in court on Monday.

Police say help from the public led them to identifying Johnson.
