PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Two men are being sought in connection with a stabbing and assault in Portland's Montavilla neighborhood.

Officers said they first received a report of the stabbing at a home in the 1100 block of Northeast 75th Avenue at 1 p.m.

While en route, they learned the victim was taken by private car to Providence Hospital so he could be treated. He was then taken by ambulance to a trauma hospital.

By the time officers arrived, the two suspects had fled the area.

Police said only one of the suspects is responsible for the stabbing, but both of them took part in an assault against two other people.

The suspects are described as Hispanic, with one of them wearing a blue shirt. The other wore a white shirt and had a "bit heavier build." They left the crime scene in a pre-2000 white Chevy Suburban.

Police said the victim's injuries are serious, but he's expected to survive the stabbing.

Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to call 503-823-0400.
