Death of man found on Historic Columbia River Hwy ruled an accident

CORBETT, OR (KPTV) -

A 49-year-old man whose body was found on the side of the Historic Columbia River Highway died in a fall.

Someone spotted the body near Oneonta Falls, about 50 yards east of the Oneonta Gorge tunnel, at 8 a.m.

Deputies closed the highway for two hours as the body was recovered and investigators processed the scene.

Detectives said there were no immediate signs of foul play.

On Monday, the Multnomah County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as 49-year-old Joseph Kincaid of Portland.

It was determined that he died from blunt force trauma to the head. His death was ruled an accident caused by a fall.
