MILL CITY, OR (KPTV) -

A Salem man asked his family to hide his computer because he knew he was under investigation by the Department of Human Services, according to deputies.

Investigators said the Mill City family members of 35-year-old Robert Willis became suspicious about the situation, so they looked at the computer. They found child pornography, deputies said, and contacted the Linn County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said Willis asked his relatives to hide the computer in June, knowing he was under investigation by the Child Welfare Division of DHS in Marion County.

His computer was seized after family members reported finding the illicit images and video.

A search warrant was obtained and deputies forensically searched the digital contents of the hard drive.

Deputies said they located 123 photos and videos depicting underage girls as young as 5 years old involved in sexually explicit conduct, including girls being raped by adult men.

Willis was arrested and charged with 123 counts of encouraging child sex abuse.

He was booked in the Linn County Jail. His bail was set at more than $1.2 million.
