Anheuser-Busch, this backlash's for you, courtesy of Oregon craft brewers.

Budweiser's Super Bowl commercial boasted that their product is "proudly a macro beer."

The one-minute spot also seemed to mock craft beers and even the people who enjoy them.

"Let them sip their pumpkin peach ale, we'll be brewing us some gold suds," the Budweiser commercial states.

Craft brewers and their fans took notice. The line that really got their brew boiling, however, was this one: "The people who drink our beer are people who like to drink beer brewed the hard way."

Coalition Brewery in Portland sent out a photo on Instagram of a worker with a broken paddle. The message said, "Big Mike snapped the paddle in half today while mashing in. Just proof that craft brewers don't brew the hard way, like @Budweiser does. We will keep trying Portland."

Oregon-based Hopstories and Ninkasi Brewing of Eugene created their own "commercials" as counterpoints to Budweiser's claims.

"Only craft beer is brewed by hand, the actual hard way," Hopstories' video states. "It's not brewed to be slammed. It's brewed to taste good."

Ninkasi injected plenty of humor into their homebrewed spot, but also asked Budweiser a simple question.

"If you aren't drinking a beer for taste, what are you drinking it for?"

Plenty of other breweries and craft beer fans in the Pacific Northwest and beyond have continued the campaign online.

Many have also pointed out a bit of hypocrisy in Budweiser's message. Anheuser Busch recently purchased Seattle brewery Elysian Brewing, which brews a pumpkin peach ale.
