PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Crime Stoppers of Oregon and the Portland Police Bureau are asking for the public's help finding whoever killed a 19-year-old who was shot in the Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood.

On July 12, officers patrolling in the area of Southeast 137th and Powell Boulevard responded to the Shalamar Apartments at 3:24 p.m. after hearing multiple gunshots.

Police located one victim, identified Monday as Anthony Jackson Jr., 19. Medical assistance was provided to the victim who suffered at least one gunshot wound.

Jackson was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Portland police reported Tuesday July 14 that he had died.

Police said they are investigating this as a homicide and no arrests have been made. No suspect information is available.

"It’s really hard to think that someone would know something about this and not say anything.  That’s my child," said Shannon Taloff, Jackson's mother.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case.

Jackson's family has started a GoFundMe page to help raise money for his funeral.  Anyone wishing to donate can go to http://www.gofundme.com/zf6ee38
