Police: Inmate escapes from Columbia River Correctional Institution

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The Oregon Department of Corrections is reporting that an inmate escaped on Sunday from the Columbia River Correctional Institution in Portland. 

The staff said that at 5:30 a.m. they discovered 35-year-old Danny Spillers was missing, after they found a broken window in the kitchen area. 

According to police, Spillers is a white man, 6' tall and 185 pounds with red hair and hazel eyes. He is said to most likely be wearing blue jeans with the word "inmate" and the DOC logo stenciled on the knee in orange and a blue t-shirt with the word "inmate" and the DOC logo stenciled in orange on the front and back. 

Police said that Spillers entered DOC custody on June 9 on four counts of burglary and one count of unauthorized use of a vehicle. 

Anyone with information regarding Spillers whereabouts is asked to call Oregon State Police at 1-800-452-7888.
