CAMAS, WA (KPTV) -

More than 50 cars have been hit by prowlers in Camas in just the last week and a half, and police have now released surveillance images of two suspects.

Police have been taking reports of numerous car prowls throughout the west side of Prune Hill.

The thefts from inside the vehicles have led to fraud and identity theft, as well as burglaries, according to police. The suspects have taken garage door remotes to gain access to the victims' garages.

"It's unreal, it's unreal and they keep going for it," said homeowner Roxanna Rico. "Our car had been rummaged through, napkins thrown and boxes were everywhere. We reported it to police, who at that point happened to be driving by, because of the other incidents in the neighborhood."

"Luckily we didn’t have a garage door opener in the car, ours was minimal compared to other neighbors," Rico added.

Detectives said most of the prowls have involved unlocked vehicles.

Home surveillance video showed one of the suspects approach an unlocked vehicle shortly after midnight Saturday. The suspect went inside and rummaged through the vehicle for more than two minutes before leaving in a light-colored car.

Neighbors say they're fed up, and are now on the look out themselves for the people responsible.

"This is such a tight knit community, they need to be found, they can't get away with crimes like this," said Rico.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects should call 911 and ask to speak with a Camas officer, according to a Camas Police Department release.
